Sandy Dune is a shingle-style coastal house on pilings, made for big gatherings and quiet evenings in the same rooms. Decks and covered porches open off the living floor, a fireplace anchors the main level, and the kitchen backs onto a chef's pantry, a walk-in pantry and the laundry room, grouped together so the working end of the house stays in one place.
Upstairs, three bedroom suites and an office give everyone a door to close. The primary suite is up there too, with its own bath and a walk-in closet, well away from the living floor. An elevator connects every level from the two-car garage under the house.
A fireplace on the main level: the open living floor is drawn around it, and it is where everyone ends up on a cool night.
Two pantries: a chef's pantry for prep and a walk-in pantry for stock, side by side with the laundry, so the kitchen itself can stay open and clear.
