The Magnolia Cottage on a narrow coastal lot, built the way it was drawn: parking under the house, the living rooms one flight up under a vaulted ceiling, and a footprint of 32 by 70 feet that leaves room on either side. It is the plan we point to when someone asks how much house fits on a lot this size.

The Winthrop as a garage apartment, built on the same lot as The Maple house plan. Two cars below and a one-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and a walk-in closet above, on a footprint of 32 by 25 feet. Built first, it gives a family somewhere to live while the main house goes up; built later, it is a guest suite or a rental with its own front door.

Little Maple

The Little Maple, built in Tennessee by a builder who has built our plans before. A country cottage on a crawlspace, 30 feet 6 inches wide and 64 feet deep, with three bedrooms and three full baths in 2,500 square feet. The photographs came from the builder when the house was finished.
