The Chestnut is a Low Country house drawn to be lived in year round or kept for the summers. The living space is one open room, and a run of bi-fold glass doors folds back so the room and the porch behind it become one; part of the porch is screened, part is open.
The primary suite is on the main floor, with its own bath and a walk-in closet. Upstairs there are three good-sized bedrooms, for family, guests or an office, and an elevator connects every level. Underneath, a 1,496 square foot side-entry garage keeps the cars and the gear out of sight and the front of the house clean.
Bi-fold doors to the porch: the main living space opens fully onto a porch that is partly screened and partly open, so the room grows on a good evening.

A $75 study set of The Chestnut includes dimensioned floor plans for every level, all four elevations, door and window schedules and a specification sheet, enough to hand a builder for a budget number and to check the footprint against your lot. It is not licensed for construction. The $75 credits in full toward the The Chestnut construction set for twelve months.
