Ellie's Hideaway House Plan

Elevated Coastal Home with a Plunge Pool, an Elevator and a Main-Floor Primary Suite

2,299 SQ. FT. | 5 BED | 4.5 BATH | 2-STORY | 2.5-CAR GARAGE

Ellie's Hideaway is a five-bedroom elevated house built around its back deck. A plunge pool, an outdoor kitchen and two covered porches sit at the rear of the main floor, a few steps from the kitchen, and an elevator runs from the garage level up to the main floor.

The main floor holds the living room, the kitchen and dining room, the primary suite and a second suite that also works as an office, with three more bedrooms upstairs. On the ground floor, a garage entered from the side has room for two cars and a golf cart, beside a lower entry and an unfinished storage room almost 30 feet long.

A plunge pool and outdoor kitchen on the main floor: the plunge pool sits on an uncovered deck at the back of the house. The outdoor shower is beside a door into the primary bath, so you can come in from the pool without walking through the house. Between the deck and the house, a covered porch holds the outdoor kitchen, with a towel cabinet just inside its door to the kitchen, and a second covered porch, 15' 6" x 14' 6", opens off the living room.

An elevator from the garage: it opens at the lower entry beside the garage and next to the pantry on the main floor, so groceries, beach gear and luggage come up without the stairs. The bedrooms upstairs are reached by the stair.

Two suites on the main floor: Suite 1 is 12' 0" x 15' 0" with a 9' ceiling, a walk-in closet and a bath with a tub, a walk-in shower and the toilet in its own room. The bath has its own door out to the rear deck, and a pass-through from the walk-in closet sends clothes straight into the laundry room next door. Suite 2 at the front of the house (12' 0" x 12' 6") has its own bath, a walk-in closet and a small balcony, and it works as a home office as easily as a guest room.

An open kitchen and living room: the 14' 6" x 18' 4" kitchen and dining room has a 10' ceiling, a long island, a walk-in pantry with a beverage refrigerator and tall cabinets. The 14' 6" x 16' 0" living room has a vaulted ceiling and a gas fireplace and opens to the rear porch. A half bath sits off the entry.

Three bedrooms upstairs: Bedroom 3 (12' 0" x 13' 0") has its own bath and a walk-in closet. Bedroom 4 (12' 0" x 12' 6", vaulted ceiling) and Bedroom 5 (10' 0" x 9' 6"), which also works as a playroom, share a bath that opens to both rooms. The upstairs hall has a linen closet and a 14' 6" x 21' 8" attic, which can be finished as a bonus room through a plan modification.

Ellie's Hideaway keeps the kitchen, both suites and every outdoor space on one floor. The primary bath opens to the deck beside the outdoor shower, the towels sit by the porch door, and the closet passes laundry straight through to the laundry room. The elevator ties that floor to the garage, the stair leads to the three bedrooms upstairs, and the ground floor holds the parking, the storage and the mechanical room.

What foundation does Ellie's Hideaway come with?

Ellie's Hideaway is drawn on a pier / piling foundation. It is an elevated plan, with the living space raised above open space or parking, drawn for flood zone and coastal lots. On this page it is offered as pier, cmu, piling (+$300), walkout basement (+$300) or crawlspace (+$300), chosen before you buy. A local engineer sizes the foundation for your soil and wind zone.

How tall is Ellie's Hideaway and how much ground does it cover?

The maximum ridge height is 34' 9". The footprint is 39' 6" x 70' 0", which is the number to check against your setbacks; porches and the garage count toward it even though they are not in the heated area. Heated living area is 2,299 square feet on 2 stories.
